COURT UPDATE
May 4, 2020
THE SUPREME COURT EXTENDED THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC EMERGENCY RESPONSE OF IN-PERSON COURT PROCEEDINGS UNTIL MAY 15, 2020. AS A RESULT OUR MAY COURT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO JUNE 16TH. THE WEBSITE WILL BE UPDATED IF THIS DATE IS SUBSEQUENTLY CHANGED. IF YOU ARE ON A MONTHLY PAYMENT SCHEDULE, YOU SHOULD CONTINUE TO MAKE THOSE PAYMENTS EITHER BY MAIL OR UTILIZING THE DROP BOX AT THE SIDE ENTRANCE TO THE BUILDING.
Many traffic infractions can be settled prior to court date. Payment must be received by 4:30 p.m. on the day prior to your court date or you must appear in court. Your ticket or jail release documents will reflect your assigned court date.
A ticket can be paid in person or by mail. Mailed payments must include your signed and dated copy of the ticket. Payments can be made by using cash, certified check, or money order. NO PERSONAL CHECKS ARE ACCEPTED. Do not send cash in the mail.
Defensive Driving School is an option for persons who have never had a traffic violation charged against their driving record. Upon successful completion of the driving course, and payment of court cost, the ticket will be dismissed.
Obtaining a warrant: Should the magistrate determine that there is sufficient probable cause that an offense was committed and that the person(s) named committed the offense, then a warrant of arrest may be issued. To begin this process, the complainant must first file an incident report with the police department.
