Pleasant Grove, the good neighbor city, is a beautiful place with quiet, friendly neighborhoods. It boasts a large athletic complex that features a walking track, spacious park, three youth ball fields, two youth softball fields, soccer and football fields, along with several churches rich in Pleasant Grove history.
Strong and resilient, the community has worked hard to overcome two life-shattering disasters that stunned the city and radically changed the lives of many residents: the mining explosion of November 1922 and the massive tornado of April 2011. Both occasions brought out generous neighbors to offer hands to begin the recover process, prayers, coffee, water, and other refreshments. The journey to triumph from each disaster has been long and demanding, the community forever changed. But Pleasant Grove is so much more than a simple compilation of the property and items owned, but rather a community that cares for each other. The community is stronger than before.
According to Homesnacks.net (a national website), Pleasant Grove is named number seven on its Best Place to Live in Alabama list. Science is used to analyzed such things as crime, education, weather and amount of income per household to find out, once and for all, the best cities to make home in the Yellowhammer State
