The City Council of the City of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, met in the Conference Room at the Pleasant Grove City Hall, 6:00p.m. for the pre-council meeting with the following present:

 

Mayor:                        Jerry W. Brasseale

Council Members:       William Bullion

                                    James G. Mosley (absent)

                                    Paula Johnson

                                    Terrie Hicks

                                    Philip Houston

 

Also present: Attorney Jon Terry, Lieutenant Richard Mathews, City Clerk Karen Duncan

 

The council discussed general business to be taken care of at the council meeting.

The City Council of the City of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, met in regular session at 7:00p.m.in the Council Chambers with the following present:

                                    Terrie Hicks

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

 

Ms. Johnson made a motion to approve the minutes of the November 16th. pre-council and regular meeting.

 

Mr. Houston seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

 

APPROVAL OF BILLS

 

Ms. Hicks made a motion to approve payment of the bills in the amount of $313,532.97 with the high school reimbursing the city in the amount of $209.05.

 

Ms. Johnson seconded the motion.

 

Motion passed unanimously.

OFFICERS OF THE CITY REPORTS

 

Mr. Brasseale reported that Chief Knight has started fire training to meet the requirements of his position.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

Ms. Johnson commended the Police Department on the cooperation working with the City of Hueytown.

 

Mr. Brasseale reported Representative Pat Moore presented a check from the state to the city in the amount of $8,000.00. $1,000.00 is to be given to the Library and $1,000.00 to the Boy Scouts.

 

The Parade Committee presented the following awards for the Christmas Parade.

 

First Place $250.00 - Best of Parade goes to Hicks Family Express Train

 

Second Place $200.00- Cub Scouts Pack 120

 

Third Place $150.00- Tie between Family Career & Community Leaders of America sponsored by Dr. Shane Roberts and Pleasant Grove Baseball Team

 

Antique Car Winner Plaque- Fred Mills

 

Special Recognition to Julie Bynum and Randy Johnson for their help with the lighting of the Christmas tree and parade.

 CITIZENS COMMENTS 

Appreciation expressed to the Fire and Police Department for attending Garden Grove meeting.
