Boy Scout Troop 120 in Pleasant Grove, in cooperation with the city of Pleasant Grove, Alabama Power, The Arbor Day Foundation and the Alabama Forestry Commission will be giving out trees (seedlings) to those Pleasant Grove Residence that were affected by the April 27th tornado. The trees will be available for pick up on February 11th at 8:00am. The location for pick up has yet to be determined but will more than likely be around Hill's Groceries.

Pleasant Grove’s 4th Annual City Lighting ceremony was held December 1, 2011. With the help from our community we came together to celebrate this joyous time of the year. The Boy Scout Troop #120 led us into this ceremony with a prayer. Following them was the Pleasant Grove Elementary Choir directed by Julie Bynum. Pleasant Grove Middle School Choir directed by Nichole Hill sang after the Elementary Choir. Senator Greg Reed accompanied by Brenda Odom on the keyboard sang also.Pleasant Grove marching band directed by Chuck Eady performed for the audience while Santa Claus made his appearance. Refreshments were served thanks to Jan Spurlin and the staff from Legacy Health Care Center.
